How the tracker works
- ARC AI listens to Hyperliquid's public trade stream for 28 coins, all day.
- Fills from one order are added up. Orders of $500K+ (BTC, ETH), $250K+ (SOL) or $50K–$100K+ (other coins) are recorded.
- The wallet's own fills say what the order did: opened or closed a long or a short, flipped sides, or was liquidated, and the position left after it.
- These are leveraged bets on the price, kept apart from on-chain whale buying and selling of the coins themselves.
Developers and AI agents get the same data free from the ARC AI API and MCP server.
Questions
What is a Hyperliquid whale?
A wallet that places a very large order on Hyperliquid, a perpetual-futures exchange whose trades are public on its own blockchain. ARC AI records orders of $500K+ on BTC and ETH, $250K+ on SOL, and $50K–$100K+ on other coins.
Are Hyperliquid whales long or short right now?
In the last 24 hours ARC AI recorded 1309 big orders: $529.28M of new longs and $299.59M of new shorts, most of it on BTC. The table on this page updates every minute.
How does ARC AI know if a trade opened a long or closed a short?
Every Hyperliquid trade names the wallet that placed it. ARC AI reads that wallet's own fills, which state the position before the order, so each trade is labelled Open Long, Close Short, a flip from short to long, or a liquidation, with the size of the position left afterwards.
Is this the same as buying the coin?
No. These are leveraged futures bets on the price, not coin purchases. ARC AI keeps them apart from on-chain whale buying and selling of the coins themselves (see the whale tracker).
Is the Hyperliquid whale tracker free?
Yes. The page is free with no sign-up, and the same data is in the free ARC AI API (/api/whales/futures) and MCP server for AI agents.
