Whale, Launch, Momentum, Scam: ARC AI Signal Types Explained

ARC AI generates six types of on-chain signals. Here is what each one means, which agent produces it, and how to act on it without getting wrecked.

The ARC AI feed delivers six types of signals, each produced by a different AI agent and representing a different type of market event. Knowing how to read each signal โ€” and more importantly, how not to misread them โ€” is the difference between useful intelligence and expensive noise.

๐Ÿ‹ Whale Signals

Produced by: Hunter agent
What it means: A wallet classified as "smart money" โ€” based on its historical win rate, portfolio size, and trading patterns โ€” has made a significant move on a token.

Whale signals come in three flavours: accumulation (buying), distribution (selling), and transfer (moving to a new wallet, which sometimes precedes either action).

How to use it: Accumulation signals from multiple high-confidence wallets on the same token within a short window is one of the strongest buy signals ARC AI produces. Single whale moves are interesting but not actionable on their own โ€” wait for confirmation.

False positive risk: Medium. Some "smart money" wallets make bad calls. Always cross-reference with the token's scam probability before acting on a whale accumulation signal.

๐Ÿš€ Launch Signals

Produced by: Sentinel and Hunter agents
What it means: A new token has been detected on-chain, passed initial contract screening, and shows early signs of legitimate activity.

Not every new token gets a launch signal. Tokens that fail Sentinel's contract screening โ€” honeypot patterns, mutable ownership, suspicious mint authority โ€” are filtered out before a signal is generated.

How to use it: Launch signals surface opportunities early. The best time to get in on a legitimate new token is in the first few hours โ€” but this is also when risk is highest. Use the AI report to get a full risk assessment before trading.

False positive risk: Higher than other signal types. New tokens have limited data for analysis. Treat launch signals as "worth investigating" rather than "buy now."

โšก Momentum Signals

Produced by: Momentum agent
What it means: A token is showing statistically unusual acceleration in price, volume, or new wallet acquisition relative to its recent history.

Momentum signals are not just "price went up." They detect when the rate of change itself is accelerating โ€” a token going from $1M to $2M volume in an hour when its 7-day average was $200K/hour is a momentum signal. A token maintaining steady $2M/hour volume is not.

How to use it: Momentum signals are best used to confirm other signals rather than act on independently. A token with whale accumulation AND a momentum signal is a much stronger setup than either alone.

๐Ÿค– Narrative Signals

Produced by: Nexus agent
What it means: A macro theme or sector narrative is gaining traction across social channels, news sources, and on-chain activity patterns. Tokens associated with this narrative may see inflows.

Examples: an AI token narrative forming as major AI companies release news, a DePIN narrative accelerating as institutional interest grows, a meme coin cycle starting as social volume across known meme communities spikes.

How to use it: Narrative signals are for positioning, not timing. They tell you which sectors are heating up so you can research tokens in that space โ€” they do not tell you which specific token to buy or when.

๐Ÿ”” Alert Signals

Produced by: Sentinel agent
What it means: An urgent event has been detected that requires immediate attention. Typical alert signals include sudden liquidity removal, a large portion of token supply moving to a single wallet, or a contract modification that was not previously possible.

How to use it: If you hold a token and receive an alert signal for it, investigate immediately. Many rugpulls are preceded by on-chain events that Sentinel detects 15โ€“30 minutes before the price collapse. The watchlist feature exists precisely to give you these notifications in time to exit.

False positive risk: Low. Alert signals have the highest confidence threshold of any signal type.

โš ๏ธ Scam Signals

Produced by: Sentinel agent
What it means: Sentinel has classified a token as a high-confidence scam based on contract analysis, liquidity patterns, social activity, and known scam deployer database matching.

How to use it: Avoid the token. Share the signal with anyone who might be considering buying it. Scam signals are not speculative โ€” they represent Sentinel's highest-confidence classification.

Signal confidence scores

Every signal has a confidence score from 0โ€“100%. Low-confidence signals are still potentially useful but have a higher false positive rate. Elite users can filter their feed to only show signals above a certain confidence threshold via Agent Config.
